SHOULD RESEARCH ON EMBRYOS BE ALLOWED???
In my opinion, rese
arch on embryos should be allowed but only under some conditions. First of all, we need to know if an embryo is a human being or just cells. We cannot be sure about it but we can decide it once and for all. In case we decide that it’s not that it’s not a human being, I think we should do that research so we can understand better our body, our formation and our DNA. By studying embryos we can solve some problems that are really important, like cancer, stem cells creation and other problems that require understanding cell division and mutation. In case we decide that embryos are really human beings we can do research but only if embryos survive and have no mutations. There are some ethical problems that prevent us from doing it, but nowadays we have other problems that are more important (global warming, overpopulation, etc.). So I think we have no time to be concerned about ethical problems. We need to do something that could solve our problems. But when we have two solutions and one of them is ethically correct, even if it’s more expensive and more difficult to achieve, we should choose this one. In conclusion I’d like to say that we should research on embryos only when we know what the consequences are.
